With the iron or diamond swords, you can queue for Unranked or Ranked matches, either solo or with your party. After selecting the game type, you can choose the player mode: 1v1, 2v2, 3v3, or 4v4 and then a specific mode.
You can use /duel <username> to directly challenge a specific user. After running the command, you will be able to select the mode in which you want to fight.
When an invitation is sent to the opponent, they will need to accept it in order for the game to start.
With your party, you can also easily create a match and play a private FFA in a specific mode.
With this option, you can select another party and fight them directly.
